Landed
Written during a plane trip to Poland in April 2005. Delta shadow on the wings of this flight, Sun at your back pours its radiant light. Blue lagoon sky, bubble frames cotton white, Immense is the breadth of this robe of delight. Ever amazed at this world from on high, Glimpses of snow fields and cities that lie, Far beneath, where now man's creativities lie, Breathtaking complexities, stream endlessly by. I stare and I stare, every mile of the way, These glimpses of he

Over Denmark
from London to Stockholm in April 2007 Just as I was thinking there was nothing else but blue, Above and below. I saw this golden arc of sand – Land. Lakes and towns. Lines of cotton wool clouds, and Windmills dotted around. More lakes and towns. The clouds above are moving past – quite fast, Never seen that before, We must be low, I don’t know. Another jet crosses our path, higher, jet stream passes by overhead. Take another sip of the lunchtime wine, Its nearly teatim

Light in the Darkness - Arise Shine
A word for the church today based on the prophecy in Isaiah 59 and 60 For those of you I've rescued, I have given a new land, Don't fear the ones around you, They are given into my hand. You , are a valiant warrior, You question and I prove, So, trust me now, don't sit still, Go out and watch me move. I've chosen you, be who you are, Go in the strength you know, I'm using you, your heart is new, And surely set to grow. For, I came, I lived, I gave you light, The mystery forev

Lest we forget
This poem was inspired after watching a short video by evangelist Steve Lee. Feel free to watch and share. https://youtube.com/shorts/Jt1UqedFx2I?si=mTdqwdkinVvIBjyNI . I watched a little film today, The London blitz in 'WORLD' War two. And as I let that thought sink in, I have some thoughts for you. _______ I've traveled half the world or more, Its size just blows my mind, Imagining it ALL at war, Just staggering I find. Millions on millions of lives I discern

Years of People
Walking down through the town on my wanders today, Back to the car, passing folk on the way. I realised how, if I stopped and observed, I'd see hundreds of years in the lives that they've served. The lady with the walker almost bent over double, The lads looking likely or looking for trouble. The mothers with toddlers, the people with phones. The diners all munching, the kiddies with cones. Who knows what befell in their multiple lives, Brothers and sisters husbands and wive

Summer Love
Such a warm summer night, sharing dinner for two, A balcony overlooking the sea, such a view. With sweet talk and sweet food and ruby red wine Eyes meet not distracted your fingers touch mine. Romance is in blossom and a spark is in play, As the chemistry flows in a remarkable way. The music entices as dinner is done, And we dance holding close in the evenings late sun. And then as the sun bids goodbye for the night, We walk hand in hand, barefoot in it's light. And splash

Why me ???
Why do I find myself here, all on my tod, Listening to this song 'The Goodness of God.' All my life you have been faithful, true, All my life you have been so, so good, true, With every breath that I am able, I will sing of the goodness of God. And yet here am I, alone, still wondering, just what fate has hurled, Two good lives taken, by the stains, of a wounded, broken, world. I just don't get you sometimes Lord, and it's so blooming hard to survive, Yet here, here I am,
